[From Bristol. At the end of an account of Capt. Newth's
suicide] . . . Upon a single scrap of paper were these lines
wrote with his own hand.
  James Newth, his book,
  God knows that he an honest labour took;
  For to maintain his wife and four children dear;
  He got not less one time with the other
  Thank one hundred pounds a year;
  But when she took to love a Mason,
  She thought I was the worst of all men.
